3 reasons why Photographers should get in front of the camera!
My fellow photographers, this is a reminder to make sure that you are not always behind the camera but get in front of it sometimes too! I know that sometimes even though we are behind the camera ALL the time, getting in front of it can seem a little daunting, or just get pushed off your priority list. Keep reading to learn why I think getting in front of the camera is so important!
Number 1: Story telling
As photographers we are story tellers. We tell a story through every image we share, we pride ourselves in capturing someones beautiful and precious moments. Sometimes, we get so busy telling other peoples stories that we forget to make sure OUR own story is being documented and told. Your story, moments, and memories are just as important as your clients. Make sure to prioritize getting your photos done and getting your story told, just like you would a client!
Number 2: It reminds us of the feels
Getting in front of the camera reminds YOU how it feels for your client to be behind the camera. You remember how FUN it can be, and can also be reminded of what makes a session feel awkward. I always find that after I have my photos done I leave with more knowledge, and tips in my head that I can put towards bettering my clients experience.
Number 3: Allows you to get Creative
Getting your photos done means that you get to be creative with another ‘creative’ in the area! You can curate and build your session to be exactly what you want and work with a creative in the area to pull it off! Not only is this fun for you, but it helps you build connections with other photographers in the area.
