What is an extended Family Session? - sunset extended family session at Wellington Beach

Extended family sessions are for that sometimes rare, but amazing time when you get the whole family together in one place! Perfect for aunts, uncles, and grandparents to attend!

…………………………Session Flow

I start out your extended family session with some fun group shots of EVERYONE. We will do a couple photos of everyone smiling at the camera and then move on to some poses that are a bit more ‘fun’ and have more movement! These sessions are totally relaxed and focused on you all having a FUN time with each other.

Get all the combos……………….

Next I will grab all the grandkids and grandparents and do a photo of them all together! I like to get this early on while all the kids are still in a good mood:) We will get a photo of everyone smiling and then do a little tickle/hug fight.

…………………………..Just the Adults

I love to grab a photo of all the adults together. This also gives the kids a little break from photos. I love to have the kids come behind me and help “prompt”all the adults to smile. We will do one of just the grandparents and their original kids, and then do all the adults together. Then I love to an all siblings shot!

Of course throughout your session I’ll be snapping candids the entire time! ;) Getting those giggles, hugs and smiles!

…………………Mini Sessions

If we have the time after getting all the different family combos I love to do little “Mini Sessions” with each individual family. I’ll sneak each family away for 10 minutes and do shots of just them together! This way not only do you get a photo of everyone all together but just your own fam too! :)

Playtime………………………

Ending your session with a little ‘playtime’ where everyone just chats and hangs out while I grab a couple more candids is the BEST way to end a session.
