5 reasons why you should get married mid-week in 2022

Mid week wedding?

You are probably thinking “ What?? Mac, no one gets married on a Tuesday!” I know, I know but hear me out! With the sheer volume of weddings that have been postponed and rescheduled in the last two years 2022 is going to be a CRAZY year for weddings. With this in mind both couples, and vendors have to get creative.

1.      Your budget  goes further with midweek bookings in Prince Edward County

Accommodations, venues, caterers, and food trucks typically have on-peak and off-peak pricing. This means that if you elope or have your wedding mid-week you might be able to stretch your budget a bit further than if you were to book on a weekend.

2.      Traffic and Travel costs are lower for mid-week bookings

I’ll just say it- no one wants to spend their wedding vacation sitting in traffic. The main routes into the county (62, 33, & 49) can get pretty backed up on summer weekends, travelling mid-week could save you and your guests a significant amount of time and frustration. Clear sailing on county roads is a yes from me! Those of you who are planning on flying into the county: did you know flying Tuesday-Thursday is typically cheaper, and less busy.

3.      More availability from Prince Edward County vendors

With all the weddings happening in 2022 you may be hard pressed to find a weekend that your favorite vendors are available. Booking your PEC wedding midweek may mean that the vendors you love are still available to make your wedding dreams a reality!

4.     Making reservations is easier mid-week

It’s easier to make reservations in Prince Edward County mid-week as the influx of people wanting to explore the county is lower on weekdays.  *tip* make sure your preferred wineries, restaurants, and tours are running. Certain places in the county don’t run Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.           

5.     Mini Vacation

Are your guests coming from further away? Having a wedding mid-week is the perfect opportunity for your guests to have a “mini vacation” in Prince Edward County.  They can take a couple days off to celebrate your wedding and enjoy all the beautiful things the county has to offer!
